BELFAST, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - State Police and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency have arrested two people and charged them with selling heroin in Belfast.
39-year-old Asgard Tarik Gilbert and 24-year-old Anna Congdon of Belfast have both been arrested and charged with selling heroin.
Officials say on Wednesday evening, agents, Belfast Police, and Maine State Troopers served a search warrant on a room at the Admiral's Ocean Inn in Belfast where the couple was staying.
They seized 100 bags of heroin, 36 Oxycodone pills, digital scales and $1000 in cash. Drug agents say the couple was intending to sell the heroin in Waldo County.
Both were taken to the Waldo County Jail where bail was set at $250 for Anna Congdon and $10,000 for Gilbert. State police say the investigation continues and further arrests are expected.
