Lightning strike in Casco injures three

CASCO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Three people were injured - and one had to be taken to the hospital - after lightning struck them at Point Sebago resort on Sebago Lake.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department says that around 5:30 Sunday afternoon, three people were out on the shore of Sebago Lake watching the storm... When lightning hit a pine tree near them.

Sheriff's Deputies say the three were tossed into the air.
One woman suffered significant injuries and was taken to Bridgton Hospital to be treated.

She's expected to survive.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department and Casco Fire and Rescue responded to the lightning strike.
