SANFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Like many nonprofits across the country, Caring Unlimited in York County is preparing to receive less funding this year due to sequestration cuts.
The domestic violence program may lose $150 thousand from state and federal funding cuts, including a $100 thousand grant for transitional housing.
Staff members are hoping small fundraisers, like a Saturday yard sale in Sanford, will go a long way to pay for things like an August outing to Funtown Splashtown USA for mothers and children.
Caring Unlimited is always accepting donations and volunteer help. They are also looking for donated furniture for transitional housing apartment units.
