OXFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a fire that destroyed a two-car garage in Oxford early Sunday morning.

Oxford Fire Chief Scott Hunter said firefighters were called to a home on Skeetfield Road shortly after 3:30 a.m. for the report of a garage fully engulfed in flames.

Hunter said the homeowner woke up to the fire when he heard loud noises, and immediately called the fire department.

A motorcycle and several antiques were destroyed in the fire, and the garage is considered a total loss.

Crews from Mechanic Falls, Norway, and Paris assisted the Oxford Fire Department on scene.

Chief Hunter said the State Fire Marshal's office has been called in to investigate, but due to the extent of the damage, the cause of the fire might not be determined.
