PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Red Sox catcher David Ross and Franklin Morales did more than just log innings in a rehab assignment with the Sea Dogs.  They both played their part helping Portland win their third straight game, 8-4, over New Hampshire.

Ross went 1-for-3 with an RBI while Morales didn't give up an earned run in five innings, scattered six hits, and struck out three batters.

It was Morales' second appearance at Hadlock Field this season as he works his way back to Fenway from a strained left pectoral muscle.  He's been on the disabled list all season.  The left-handed pitcher first suffered a back injury during spring training.

Ross has been on the disabled list since May 12 as he's been dealing with a concussion.  Red Sox manager John Farrell said the plan for Ross was to play one rehab game before being reactivated.

The Sea Dogs (27-18) remain atop the Eastern League's Eastern Division.  They open a four-game set on the road at Binghamton starting on Friday.
