GORHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Police officers in Gorham lost their locks today for a good cause.

All the money raised by the event went to support Special Olympics. The Gorham Police Department has had a special relationship with the organization since the first Special Olympic Winter Games were held in town back in 1970. 11 officers had their heads shaved for Today's "Buzz the Fuzz" event.
"Back in the day we were called the fuzz so I just said hey you get a buzz cut, why not call it buzz the fuzz", said Gorham Police Chief Ron Shepard,
Chief Shepard is issuing a challenge to police chiefs across Maine to get their heads shaved and to encourage their officers to do the same to benefit Special Olympics.
