BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- If you're feeling lucky these days, you might want to consider purchasing a lottery ticket in the days ahead.
The amount of money you could win during Saturday's Powerball drawing could be worth as much as $600 million. No one matched Wednesday night's numbers which means the prize is now the third largest in U.S. history. All those zero's have sent several people out to pay their two dollars for a ticket, despite the odds of winning are one in 175 million.
Some people we caught up with on Friday had all kinds of different ideas of what they would do with the money if they won.
"First thing I would do is invest in my grandchildren," said Bill Charpentier, who bought his ticket at Ledbetter's superstore in Bangor, "let their college education be paid for."
"I would want to pay off my house..pay off my vehicles and set my kids up for college and then I'd go from there with it," said Bruce Morneault, who also bought a ticket.
Some of the most chosen numbers in this lottery include the number 8, which has won 17 times. Number 3 has won 19 times. 56 has won 18 times and 56 has also been the power play 26 times.
