WOOLWICH, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The principal of the Woolwich Central School had a really bad hair day Wenesday...
Tom Soule allowed 7th grader Morgan Theriault and her mom to dye his hair purple because she motivated the school to raise more than $7,500 to fight juvenile diabetes.
Morgan has been living with type one diabetes since she was 4 years old, and this year, she asked if she could organize a walk at the school to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Her goal was $5,000, and Soule agreed that if she reached it, she'd let him dye his hair the day of the walk.
Soule said, "She is tenacious. She is a champion of her cause. She gets up every morning and faces this every day, and you have to respect that."
The school is hoping to make this diabetes walk a yearly event.
