USM baseball ready for another NCAA regional

GORHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The USM baseball team has made it an almost annual tradition to qualify for the NCAA tournament.  Their next step is to get back to to the Division III College World Series for the first time since 2001. 

The 16th-ranked Huskies enter their double-elimination tournament winners in 31 of 36, including a stretch of 19 straight victories. 

The nation's most potent offense at ten runs a game has led, but improved pitching and defense is allowing USM outscore their opponents by a two-to-one margin. 

They'll look to put last season's disappointing 0-2 result in the regionals when as the top seed in Harwich, Massachussetts when they play Daniel Webster on Wednesday . 

Fellow, Maine participant is the sixth-seed St. Joseph's and will follow against Endicott.
