BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Business enthusiasts from across the state were at the Bangor Civic Center Thursday, for the annual Bangor Region Chamber Business Expo held there.
Each year the expo fills to capacity with its vendors, and Thursday's event was no exception with 100 vendors on hand throughout the day. Several seminars were also held including a Speed Networking Session where business owners from all walks of life had a chance to meet and exchange information.
"I'm having a blast with it," said Cindy Stevens with Bangor Savings Bank. "I was a nervous wreck because I've never done it before, but it's very very good."
Stevens, along with others who attended, only had two minutes to meet with with one another before having to move on to the next person. Though their time was limited, the sessions moderator Deb Neuman, says that speed networking is a perfect opportunity for those in the business world to make new contacts.
"It really forces you to meet people you otherwise may have never had the opportunity, or the chance to get to know," said Neuman.
In addition to the the speed networking sessions, several other seminars were held during the business expo through out the day. There were also several winners, with $3,000 in prizes given away.
