RANGELEY, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Maine Wardens have resumed recovery efforts for three snowmobilers who went through the ice on Rangeley Lake late last year.

41-year-old John Spencer of Litchfield, 43-year-old Glenn Henderson of Sabattus, and 40-year-old Ken Henderson of China apparently went into open water on the lake on December 30. The Maine Warden Service had to stop their recovery operations in January when ice formed and temperatures dipped below zero.

Thursday, game wardens used side scanning sonar to search the area near where the men's sleds, helmets and gloves were found earlier this year. When the sonar located a number of areas of interest, divers went in.

Lt. Kevin Adam said, "If you're a family member, you want your loved one back. You want that closure. Some of their lives are in limbo because of this. We haven't found found their loved one. So that's obviously playing on us."
