BELFAST, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Prom season can come with a high cost when it comes to picking out that perfect prom dress. But one project is letting high school girls something to wear to prom at no cost at all, as long as they pledge to pay it forward.
The Cinderella Project has been bringing free prom dresses to girls in the state of Maine for eight years now. On Sunday, they handed out the 1000th dress during their third and final cinderella giveaway of the 2013 prom season.
The dresses come at no cost to an individual, as long as they can pay the good deed forward whether it be through volunteering or simply just donating the dress back to the cinderella project after prom.
The cinderella project aims to bring high school girls the full prom experience they deserve.
