Gorham fire under investigation

GORHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Gorham Police and the State Fire Marshal's Office are investigating a fire that broke out on Highland Avenue early Saturday morning.

Gorham Police and Fire Departments were called to a home at 34 Highland Avenue around 4:30 a.m. for the report of a fire with explosions.  

When firefighters arrived on scene, they discovered a detached garage fully engulfed in flames, and the flames had spread to the home.  Police said everyone inside the home was able to escape without injury.  

Authorities said the initial reported explosions were determined to be spray paint containers in the garage.  

No cause has been determined yet for the fire, and it remains under investigation.
