BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- City police have now released the name of the man who was fatally stabbed Tuesday night at a housing complex in Bangor.

Investigators say 30-year-old Thomas Neil Taylor died last night after being stabbed in the chest. The investigation into his death is now being ruled a homicide. However, police say at this point no arrests have been made.

Authorities say they spent time interviewing several people who were at the Birch Circle housing complex Tuesday night. The complex is located off of Ohio Street.

Police say they were also able to locate a vehicle which was placed at the complex Tuesday. Those connected to it have also been identified and questioned.

Authorities say Taylor was stabbed Tuesday during some kind of altercation that took place outside of his apartment in the evening. Paramedics rushed him to Eastern Maine Medical Center where he later died.

On Wednesday, neighbors who knew him described Taylor as a kind man. He had been living at Birch Circle with his wife and two sons --- both of whom are young children.

"You'd always see him out here with his sons," said Katie Horton, who also lives in the complex, "whether he was strolling the other one in the cart or it was just horrible...and I hope that his family is okay...and I wish the best for them."

"I'm shocked today," remarked neighbor Greg Martin, who lives only a few doors done from Taylor, "I mean I've lived here 12 years and in this building and in this neighborhood..we've never really had anything major...we're kinda all in shock and awe about this."

Bangor police say all parties interviewed in the case have been cooperating with them. Investigators have now turned the matter over to the Maine Attorney General's office, which will determine if any charges will be brought against anyone.

In the meantime anyone with any information on the incident is asked to contact the Bangor Police Department at (207)947-7382. You can leave an anonymous tip by pressing 6.
