Say goodbye to those highs in the 50s for the next few days. Colder air has arrived in northern New England and today looks to be one of the coolest days in the work week. Along with the cooler temperatures windy conditions are expected to continue through Thursday. Our weather will at least be pretty uneventful over the next few days. Next possible round of rain and snow will be Friday night into Saturday morning when a storm passes just offshore. Right now best chance of precipitation will be the coast and eastern Maine.
Today - Sunny start to the day. More clouds popping up during the afternoon. Head close to the mountains and upslope winds will lead to partly/mostly clouds skies and some snow showers. We may see a few scattered flurries even make their way to the coast this afternoon. Overall a pretty nice day. The big story today will be the highs only in the 30s and the breezy conditions.
Tonight - Clear to partly cloudy skies, breezy conditions, and lows around 20 degrees.
Wednesday - Partly cloudy skies, gusty NW winds, and highs around 40 degrees.
Extended Forecast - Bright skies and slightly warmer temperatures Thursday. More clouds on Friday. Low pressure will track just offshore Friday night into Saturday morning. This will be a close call for us. Some computer models have kept the track of this storm well offshore. Others have brought a little rain and snow into our area. We will keep you posted with the track of this storm as the latest information comes into the weather office.
