BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- As temperatures heat up many are looking for spring to arrive and trade in their snowboots for water skis. This weekend locals itching for warmer temperatures had a sneak peek at what lies ahead at the annual Bangor Boating and Marine Show.
John Clark with Hamlin's Marina said, "People come because it's the boat show and they always come to the boat show. It means spring is here and that's great. The weather I think is helping, there's not a lot to do out there even though the weather is nice. So let's go see some boats."
The annual event features boats to fit any water enthusiast's needs and dozens of vendors ready to help you coast into summer. All weekend attendees could shop or hear lectures about boating and water safety.
According to Clark, it has been a busy weekend and many people are getting a jump on the warmer temperatures by purchasing a new boat. Hamlin's Marina alone showcased more than thirty crafts.
As with most annual events held at the civic center, the Bangor Boat and Marine show will move to the new auditorium next year. Vendors say they expect it to be even bigger.
