Cloudy skies and occasional snow showers pretty much defined our weather for the start of the work week. The low pressure system responsible for this has been stuck over the maritimes since last week and is expected to move very slowly eastward over the next 48 hours. This should allow for a few breaks in the clouds on Tuesday and I don't think the precipitation will be as widespread as it was Monday with only scattered rain or snow showers. As the low continues to move eastward on Wednesday it will be followed by a second low that should be moving off the Virginia coast Wednesday afternoon. This should keep plenty of clouds around and perhaps a few snow showers. A more significant snowfall is possible Wednesday night into Thursday and this will depend on how close the low comes to our region as it tracks eastward. The system is expected to pull away from the east coast on Friday.
