A ridge of high pressure brought us another fine day on Thursday with above normal temperatures across the board. The high is going to move east of us tonight setting up a southerly flow that will transport even warmer air into northern New England. As is often the case the transition will lead to increasing cloudiness and there could also be some light snow Friday morning. The clouds may break for some sunshine Friday afternoon and we can look forward to another very mild day before a cold front moves through Friday evening. Behind the front colder air will send temperatures into the 30s on Saturday while an area of low pressure forms on the front off the coast of Virginia. The computer models are all over the place regarding where this low will track on Sunday. One model is suggesting a significant snowfall on the order of 6-10 inches. Another model has the storm missing us completely. Hopefully we will get a bit more agreement over the next 24 hours. One thing we can say for sure about Sunday is it is going to be a cold day with temperatures in the 20s. A dramatic change from what we've experienced over the last few days.
