LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- After the Maine Gambling Control Board approved new games for the Oxford Casino this fall, the business is expanding in size and staff.
The Oxford Casino held a job fair just for dealers at the Lewiston Career Center Tuesday.
The casino is hoping to hire 50-75 dealers before dealing school begins in a few weeks, according to Oxford Casino's Director of Human Resources Tom Cody.
Open since last June, the casino employs more than 400 people.
Revenue has been strong since the opening, with the strongest month in September bringing in $4.7 million, and the weakest month in December bringing in $3.6 million.
Some job seekers at the Lewiston fair said they have been watching the casino's success, and want to be a part of its expansion.
"I actually waited the first round of applicants because I wanted to see the casino get up and running," said Kevin Frost, who was interviewing to be a dealer.
"They've been meeting and exceeding their goals, so it seems like [the casino] is going to be here for a while," said Frost.
Applications are also accepted through the Oxford Casino's website.
