VIENNA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Investigators with the Maine State Police say speed is likely a factor in a crash that killed a woman early Wednesday morning.

Police say that Hilda Howe, 36, from Farmington Falls, was driving along Tower Road around midnight when she lost control of her car, a Mercury Mountaineer.

The SUV apparently turned over several times, according to a media release from the police, and came to rest against some trees.

Trooper Diane Perkins-Vance says that Howe was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle.

She was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Police are still looking for anyone who may be able to shine some light on Howe's final hours before the crash.
