(NEWS CENTER) - The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife's Warden Service is recovering from a busy weekend rescuing people who fell through the ice on Maine's lakes and ponds.

Game Wardens responded to 7 rescues over the weekend. No one suffered any serious injuries in the incidents.

People went through the ice on lakes and ponds from Naples to Lake View and Jackman to Southwest Harbor.

Most of the incidents involved ATVs or cars and trucks.

Wardens say that a number of factors - not just cold temperatures - factor into ice thickness. They urge caution before you head out.
