BRISTOL, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The State Fire Marshal's Office says that the fire that killed a woman in the town of Bristol in December 2012 was set by the victim.
On December 9th, fire fighters were called to a home in the New Harbor section of town. The fire they found destroyed the garage and a car inside.
In a media release from State Department of Public Safety, spokesman Steve McCausland says that Lynn Ring , 69, used gasoline to start a fire in the garage after an argument with her husband.
Ring became trapped in the garage and died.
Her husband, John Ring, was outside the garage when the fire started. He suffered minor burns.
McCausland says the couple did not drive and the car in the garage, a late model Mercedes Benz convertible, was a source of arguments between the two.
