Police looking for suspect in Portsmouth robbery

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (NEWS CENTER) -- Portsmouth Police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery that took place at a Mobil On-The-Run convenience store on Islington Street.

Police say the robbery happened around 7:20 p.m. Saturday when a man entered the store and showed the clerk a semi-automatic handgun and demanded cash out of the register. 

Authorities say the clerk obliged and was ordered to the ground as the suspect fled the store.

There were no injuries in the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 50's, average height, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and has heavy beard stubble.  He is pictured above in a photo released by police.
