A tad cooler on Friday with a lot less wind

Northwest winds gusted to over 40 mph Thursday causing several thousand power outages in Maine. Fortunately the wind died down with the setting sun and should become very light tonight as a ridge of high pressure moves our way. The high won't be here very long and as it moves off to the east Friday afternoon look for clouds to take over the sky. A mix of snow, sleet or rain is going to break out across our region late Friday night and then quickly wind down by Saturday morning as a weak disturbance moves through. Precipitation totals look to be rather light but there could still be some icy conditions for early Saturday morning. Right now Saturday is looking to be a cloudy day with low level moisture hanging tough. We stand a better chance of seeing some breaks in the clouds on Sunday. Both days promise to be quite mild with temperatures in the 40s. A cold front is going to move our way for Monday and stands a good chance of bringing us a few rain showers. Behind the front a more winter like pattern is taking shape and by Thursday some really cold air should arrive.
