Good morning. Please be cautious driving this morning. Roads across the southern parts of the state are slick and will probably be so for most of the day.
Snow will continue through late this morning in about the southern half of the state. It will start to change over to rain along the coast by this afternoon. The system will continue to push northeastward through the day and everyone will be having some sort of precipitation by this evening. The rain/snow line will push inland as warmer air moves into the region overnight. Highs today will make it into the low to mid 30s. Overnight's lows will be in the upper 20s and low to mid 30s.
By tomorrow it looks like rain for the coast and inland areas as well. The mountains and higher elevations, and far northern Maine look like they'll stick to mostly snow, although there could be mixing at times. It will also be quite breezy tomorrow, with winds coming out of the east at 15-25 mph as the low approaches us from the south. That will help to keep temperatures warmer. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30s and low to mid 40s.
Tomorrow night into Wednesday we will see some changeover back into snow as temperatures cool. Things will start to taper off on Wednesday afternoon. Thursday will be quiet.
Have a good day. Enjoy the snow.
