PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The holiday season is wonderful in so many ways, but it is definitely a time when people focus on material things. They are busy buying presents, or food for the family meal. But one Maine doctor/ songwriter wants you to pause and think about children to don't have presents, or food or families.
Dr. Joe Vitterito-- A Neonatologist at Maine Medical center. He is part of a group of healthcare providers from Maine Med. who travel to Africa to help on a regular basis, and he is trying help the children there this holiday season.
He has written a christmas song with a twist. It's called " who said Santa doesn't cry on Christmas Eve." The title alone will give you pause.
The song is sung by 'the Hope for Africa's Children choir', and the music video features children from Uganda.
The song is available on Itunes and all of the profits go to help children at the Humble School.
