AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - The flap over a cameraman who's been recording Maine Gov. Paul LePage at his public events carried over to the formal opening of the state legislative session.

Just before administering the oath of office to the newly elected state representatives Wednesday morning, LePage thanked the Democratic Party for what he called "my own paparazzi," adding that "the next two years should be interesting."

He then drew laughs when he asked that the next time the party hires a cameraman, that person be from Maine, not Massachusetts.

Moving to a more serious theme, the governor said the elections are over and it's time "to do the work of the Maine people."

The cameraman flap developed when LePage said he won't meet with Democratic legislative leaders until the video shoots stop.
