LEBANON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that left four people injured in Lebanon Saturday evening.
Lebanon Rescue Assistant Chief Jason Cole says the accident happened around 6:15 p.m. Saturday on Carl Broggi Highway near Stokewood Drive.
When rescue officials arrived on scene, they found a Jeep SUV with extensive damage to the front end and driver's side of the car. Cole says the Jeep was traveling on Carl Broggi Highway when the driver reportedly noticed another car coming head on towards her. The car hit the Jeep head on, and then immediately left the scene.
Four people were found inside the Jeep. The driver was a 31-year-old woman who was taken to Frisbie Hospital in Rochester, NH with non-life threatening injuries. There were also three young children in the car who were treated at the scene, and they did not require transportation to the hospital.
Maine State Police is assisting the Lebanon Rescue Department with the ongoing investigation into the crash.
