AUBURN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Police have arrested an Auburn man who they say burglarized homes in several different counties.
Police arrested 45-year-old John P. Michaud Thursday night on felony burglary and theft charges after a lengthy investigation that had been going on for several months in the Poland area.
Michaud has also been charged with breaking into a home in Turner on Thursday.
Authorities say Michaud was a passenger in a car that was stopped by an Androscoggin County Sheriff's Deputy in Auburn for a traffic violation. After he was taken into custody, detectives returned to his home and found a number of items that had been stolen.
Police say Michaud has been active, committing several different burglaries and thefts in different counties.
He's being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on $30,000 cash bail. Police are continuing the investigation, and more charges are possible.
