LISBON, Ohio (NEWS CENTER) - The U.S. Attorney's office says the FBI has arrested the man suspected of robbing a bank in Portland on Tuesday.
U.S. Attorney Thomas Delahanty II said in a news release that Richard Gooding, from Youngstown, OH, was arrested in Lisbon Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators believe he held up the Bangor Savings Bank on Brighton Avenue Tuesday morning, taking off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Assisting Portland Police in investigating the case were the Southern Maine Gang Task Force - which is made up of members from the FBI, Portland Police, U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement, the ATF and the DEA.
Gooding will appear in federal court in Ohio before being returned to Maine to face charges.
