AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Maine State House leadership is going to have a much different look in the 2013-14 session due to last week's elections, and its makeup will become much clearer in the days ahead.
The new Democratic majority and Republican minority in the Senate and House are beginning their caucuses in which they'll elect their respective leaders. That and other organizational business will continue in the run-up to the swearing-in of the 126th Legislature on Dec. 5.
The Senate Republicans started things off Friday, and House Republicans will elect their leaders Wednesday.
On the Democratic side, the newly elected House members plan to caucus on Tuesday. Democrats have a four-way race going on for House speaker.
In the Senate, Portland Democrat Justin Alfond is likely to be elected president.
