An area of low pressure was located just south of Nantucket Thursday evening with the circulation around the storm bringing bands of rainfall into our region. The low is expected to track eastward overnight and should be south of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia by Friday morning. As this happens the wind will shift into the northwest bringing drier air and mostly sunny skies our way for Friday. Those northwest winds should prove to be quite strong gusting at times to over 25 mph and keeping our temperatures in the mid to upper 40s. This is a big improvement over the last several days but still below normal for the time of year. The wind will diminish Friday night as a ridge of high pressure moves our way. The high will give way to an approaching warm front on Saturday and this should result in a sunny morning followed by increasing afternoon clouds. As the front lifts northward on Sunday look for the clouds to move out allowing temperatures to reach the low and mid 50s. Monday is looking mostly sunny and very mild with temperatures climbing into the 60s. This won't last very long because colder air will be back by mid week.
