PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Maine is set to feel the power of Sandy over the next 24 to 48 hours. So how can you stay connected with us during a power outage?

If you have a battery powered radio you can hear our broadcasts simulcast over the radio AM 870 in Portland area and AM 1470 in the Lewiston-Auburn area.

You can also sign up for text alerts from our website:

You can choose between breaking news, weather, and school closings. If you wish to stop text alerts at any time simply text "STOP ALL" to this number: 25543

If you have a smart phone, and a data plan, your data plans will still work on your mobile device as long as you have a cell signal. Before power goes out, you can download our free app for both iPhone/iPad and Android devices. Search for "WCSH6" in either the Apple App store or the Google Play store. We also have a mobile page too, that can be found at:

We will also be posting regular updates about Sandy (and any news related to Sandy -- including links to cancellations) on our Facebook page and Twitter feed. You do not need an account on Twitter or Facebook to see what we post, though it does help if you want to communicate, or share, with us. You can pull up the following links and see what we have posted, or to "like" and "follow" us.

To connect with us:

Be sure to include the town you live in and your name. You can share the photos, or video, on our Facebook page, by tweeting us or email us:
