PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Police in Portland are looking for the man they say threatened a clerk with a handgun.
Investigators say Wednesday evening just after 6:30, a masked man walked into Tebb's Smoke Shop at 845 Forest Avenue and displayed a handgun. He began to chase the clerk around the store. She was alone and was not hurt in the incident.
The suspect was wearing a dark-colored hoodie and was carrying a grey backpack.
Officials say they're not sure if he intended to rob the store or commit some other violent crime.
