Our weather over the last several days has turned into a real roller coaster ride. After a very chilly Saturday night that ended the growing season temperatures rebounded Sunday night and then shot up into the 60s today. Tonight promises to be very mild with rain likely as a cold front works its way through New England. The front will move off the Maine coast Tuesday morning and as it does so look for the wind to pick up out of the west. Wind gusts to over 30 mph will drive much cooler air into our region and I don't expect temperatures to rise much despite the developing sunshine. With high pressure building in the wind will diminish Tuesday night setting the stage for a much colder night. As the high moves by to our south on Wednesday a southwesterly wind should start to transport warmer air our way. By Thursday we could be back into the 60s which is way above normal for the time of year. The computer models have another cold front moving our way for Friday. They do not agree on how quickly the front will move as it approaches our region so the forecast from Friday into the weekend is one big question mark in my mind right now.
