September will be going out on a dismal note with periods of rain or drizzle in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday

Rain moved into our region right on schedule today and should continue into Saturday as an area of low pressure works its way into the Gulf of Maine. I expect the rain to taper off to scattered showers or drizzle as the low tracks northward Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately there is no ridge of high pressure waiting to move in behind the low to clear us out on Sunday. Instead we can anticipate another trough of low pressure moving through bringing more showers and keeping our temperatures well below normal. This second system should clear the Maine coast Sunday night so there is hope for some sunshine on Monday. The models are suggesting a weak disturbance moving our way on Tuesday so we could see a few more showers that day as well.
