ACTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Police believe speed and alcohol played a role in a deadly crash involving two motorcycles this afternoon in Acton.
Shortly before five o'clock, two men - Girard Blais, from Hampton, New Hampshire, and James Dibenetto, from Danvers, Massachusetts - were riding beside each other on Route 109.
Somehow the bikes collided, sending Blais across the road and into a guardrail.
He died instantly.
Dibenetto crashed into the pavement. He was taken to Goodall Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
They were not wearing helmets.
Police say they were riding with a group of bikers from the New Hampshire seacoast area.
