BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- With gas and oil prices on the rise, it's no surprise that record crowds turned out today for the PowerSmart Maine Expo held at the Spectacular Events Center in Bangor today.

Around 300 people were in attendance for the expo put on by the Bangor Hydro Electric Company and Maine Public Service. It was an opportunity for Mainers to find out more about energy efficiency to both benefit the environment and save them more money on their monthly heating and electric bills.

A total of 19 vendors were on hand to help those who took advantage of the expo learn more about heating/cooling technologies, weatherization techniques, and much more. Several speakers were also scheduled throughout the day. The PowerSmart Expo also gave folks the chance to win a $3,000 purchase towards a mini-split heat pump.

If you weren't able to attend the expo, but would like to learn more about energy efficiency, you can visit the Efficiency Maine website to get some energy saving tips.
