(NEWS CENTER) -- There's a new TV ad attacking U.S. Senate candidates Angus King and Cynthia Dill. Analysts Ethan Strimling and Joe Bruno talk about that and more In The Arena with Pat Callaghan.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee is reportedly spending $600,000 on this race. The group's new spot goes after King, an independent, for allegedlly using "political connections" to get federal loan guarantees for wind power projects, and Dill, a Democrat, for "giving taxpayers the bill." Previous ads from GOP groups have boosted Dill's candidacy in hopes of siphoning off potential votes from King, which could be helpful to Republican candidate Charlie Summers.
Strimling is a former Democratic legislator. Bruno is a former Republican lawmaker and current Chairman of the Dirigo Health board.
