CLINTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- The Clinton fair is going on this weekend, and a lot of the money raised will go back into the community.

The fair is put on by the Lions Club. One of the fair organizers Jon Whitten said this fair is put on mostly by volunteers. Like any other fair there is a lot of food to eat and performances to watch.

Whitten says some of the money that is raised at the fair goes to maintaining the fairgrounds, but most of the money goes back into the community.

"The Lions spend the money helping the eyeglasses; internationally that's what Lions Club is mainly about, helping people with eyeglasses," Whitten said.

The Clinton fair will last through Sunday. Tonight there is a fireworks show scheduled to start at 9:30. For a full schedule of fair activities go to www.clintonlionsfair.com
