MILLINOCKET, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- The town manager of Millinocket will now be moving north to take up the same job in Houlton.
The Houlton town council has named Gene Conlogue as the new manager of the town. Houlton has been looking for a permanent town manager since Doug Hazletp left in March.
Conlogue is originally from Houlton. He has been the town manager in Millinocket for several years. He worked with town leaders last year to help secure a new owner for the Katahdin Region's two paper mills. Millinocket also developed ATV trails during Conlogue's tenure.
He will be starting work in Houlton on October 15.
