ORONO, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Students are moved in and school was back in session on Tuesday at UMaine. Having students back on campus can bring in more business for some of the restaurants. One of the pubs near campus is happy to see students again.
The Bear Brew Pub bar manager Travis Cowing said the restaurant had about a 35 percent jump in lunchtime business this past weekend.
Cowing said a big reason for the increase in revenue was due to move in weekend, but having the students back brings in more business and allows the pub to have more events.
"Normally in the summer time I'll close this place up at 11 o'clock, 11:30 on a Tuesday, Wednesday night, where as pretty seven days a week during the school year open till one," Cowing said
Cowing said the students are crucial to the pubs success and employees at the pub said it is usually busier when students are on campus.
