RC Air Show Comes to Sanford

Sanford, ME (NEWS CENTER)-- Some of the finest radio control competitors in the world will be in Sanford to put on what is called an Air Show Extravaganza.

Experts from all over the world will use radio control cars, helicopters and planes to compete in races, stunts and dog fighting.

A number of world champions will be on hand. The event is sanctioned by Horizon Hobby and promoted locally by Ray and Robin's Hobby Center.

Ray Labonte says competitors come from all walks of life.  "We have plumbers, doctors and lawyers," he told NEWS CENTER. 

Thousands are expected for the event which begins with practice sessions on Thursday and Friday.  The "Extravaganza" will be Saturday and Sunday beginning at 9:30.

Admission is free, but parking is ten dollars a car.
