BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- The weather was perfect for the hundreds of people who took part in the 5th annual Bangor Walk to Defeat ALS.
The walk started and finished at Hayford Park. One of the Co-Chairs for the walk said about $50,000 has been raised from the walk in each of the past two years.
"We found it is, it's amazing to know people ALS effects, and how important it is have someplace to come and something to do, useful something that we can kind of give hope to some people for a disease that has no cure," Co-Chair of the walk Carol Lamb said
Most of the money raised in today's walk will stay local and go toward patient services, advocacy and research.
