SCARBOROUGH, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - To honor L.L. Bean's anniversary, the ice cream company Giffords - based in Skowhegan - has created a custom flavor.

It's called "Muddy Bean Boots." It is made with old fashioned Vanilla ice cream, caramel ripple and chocolate brownie bites.

"It's kind of like baking a cake," explains Roger Gifford, "What if we added this? And what if we did that and so on. So it's a fun process, but we ended up with a great flavor."

"Muddy Bean Boots" was unveiled in a ceremony Monday.

Besides the Maine companies Giffords and L.L. Bean, Oakhurst Dairy supplied the milk and cream for the flavor and Hannaford is the first company to sell it.
