Race car driver air lifted to hospital for burn treatment

OXFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - A race car driver had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for serious burns after a crash during a race.

It happened at the Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford shortly after 7 this evening.
The Oxford rescue department isn't releasing many details.
Apparently the driver got in an accident and his car caught fire, causing serious burns.
Oxford rescue says he was taken by life flight to be treated at Maine Medical Center's burn unit in Portland.
