A cold front is going to move through our region tonight kicking off showers and thunderstorms in the process. Some of these could contain heavy downpours and gusty winds. By Saturday morning the front is expected to be just off the Maine coast and as it tries to move away from us an area of low pressure will develop on it. This promises to retard the eastward progress of the front resulting in a very slow clearing trend from north to south. The mountains and foothills should see the most sunshine on Saturday and right now it appears there will be very little sunshine close to the coast. There could even be a few showers here as well. By Sunday the front will be long gone so the entire region can look forward to a pleasant day with comfortable temperatures and humidity levels. Another weak cold front is expected to arrive on Monday but it won't have much moisture to work with and this should limit the precipitation to just scattered showers late in the day.
