WALDOBORO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- State Police have charged Arline Seavey of Waldoboro with killing her former boyfriend. Police say Seavey shot Norman Benner at the home she rented on Friendship Road in Waldoboro.
State Police spokesperson Steve McCausland says that Seavey was arrested as she was being discharged from the Spring Harbor treatment center in Westbrook. Police say at the facility she was going by the name of Arline Lawless. She has been transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
Police say Seavey had received a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the face and had been getting treatment for the injury since July 23.
She is expected to appear in court on either Thursday or Friday.
