YORK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A man from York has been electrocuted after the dump truck he was operating touched a live wire.

When police arrived, they were unable to get to the man because the scene on Route 1 was not safe.

Central Maine Power cut power to the area to about 2,500 customers for 20 minutes so rescue personnel could get to the victim.

The man was eventually taken to York Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Police have now identified the victim as 42-year-old Christopher Dixon. York police are still investigating the accident.
