NAPLES, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department and the Maine Warden Service are investingating a crash of an all-terrain vehicle in Naples that left a woman dead.
Investigators say 24-year-old Shanan Loud died at the scene of the accident on River Road.
Officials say Loud and Johnathan Caswell, 28, were operating the ATV on River Road, when it flipped into some trees and landed in the Crooked River.
Caswell, was taken to Bridgton Hospital and was later transported by helicopter to Maine Medical Center.
Deputies say the cause of the accident remains under investigation, addimg speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash. Neither Loud nor Caswell were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
